Two more men have been arrested as part of an investigation into the murder of a 32-year-old woman found dead at a house in Portsmouth.

Samantha Murphy was discovered by police early on Thursday following reports of a body at the property in Wadham Road.

A 30-year-old man from Southsea has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 41-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in police custody.

Two 32-year-old men, from Havant and Petersfield, previously arrested on suspicion of murder, have been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue, Hampshire police said.

Det Ch Insp Jody Beresford, the senior investigating officer in the case, said: "We understand that this incident is both shocking and devastating to all those who knew Samantha, and we are working tirelessly to establish the full circumstances.

"We would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding whilst we have been carrying out enquiries in the area."

Detectives previously appealed to trace a gold suitcase which they said could be in the Portsmouth area. It has since been located.
