Man released after woman's death investigated

A man arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a house will face no further action after police said her death was not suspicious.

Officers were called to Queen Mary Avenue, Basingstoke, by ambulance staff shortly after 20:00 BST on Tuesday following the death of the 32-year-old.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said following a post-mortem examination "her death is not being treated as suspicious".

The arrested man, aged 49-year-old and from Basingstoke, was later taken to hospital for a pre-existing medical condition. He will face no further action.
