A charity is encouraging people across the South West to 'Walk for Children' this December.

The NSPCC is holding its annual Walk for Children on the longest night of the year – 21 December.

People are being encouraged to walk with friends and family while raising money for the children's charity.

The walk is being held on the longest night of the year because for children suffering abuse "every night feels like the longest", the charity said.

While there is no set route, the NSPCC has recommended numerous walks across the South West, including the one-mile Kingston St Mary circular walk and the South Quantocks Heritage Trail from Kingston St Mary to Hestercombe.
