Elderly driver dies after three-vehicle crash

An elderly driver has died following a three-vehicle crash on a dual carriageway.
Officers were called to the A14 eastbound, near junction 43 at Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, following reports of a crash involving a van and two cars at 08:56 GMT on 13 March.
The driver of a silver Renault Scenic involved in the crash, a man in his 80s, sustained serious injuries and died in hospital on Sunday.
A female passenger in the same car initially went home after the collision but was later admitted to hospital where she currently remains.
According to Suffolk Police, the other vehicles involved were a white Vauxhall Vivaro van and a grey Citroen C4.
The road was closed in both directions while the emergency services were in attendance before it reopened at 12:50.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and information.
