Police investigation after man in his 40s assaulted

A police cordon is in place and an investigation is under way after a man was assaulted.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to Filwood Road in the Hillfields area of Bristol at 22:23 GMT on Saturday.

Officers attended alongside the ambulance service and took a man in his 40s to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged, police said.

Anybody who witnessed the incident or has footage which will help the investigation is urged to contact the force.
