A woman was rescued by a lifeboat crew after becoming cut-off by the tide in foggy conditions on a section of coast known for its dangerous incoming waters.

She raised the alarm at 14:04 GMT on Saturday after getting into difficulty on the beach in Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk.

The RNLI said despite "poor visibility due to thick fog", the woman was located and taken to shore in a healthy condition.

"This incident highlights the importance of being cautious in poor weather conditions, especially when the tide is rising," said lifeboat manager Chris Hardy.
