St Catherine's RNLI Lifeboat Station in Jersey has nearly doubled its number of launch vehicle drivers after successfully assessing four new volunteers.

Madalin Spataru, Simon Cousins, Jim Chandler, and Brian Brown completed their training and were now certified to operate the Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat launch rig.

The training, which covered various scenarios including mechanical issues, recovery challenges, and people management, ensured drivers could handle the complex conditions at St Catherine's.

St Catherine's now had 10 qualified launch vehicle drivers, easing the pressure on the existing team and providing more flexibility for holiday cover.
