The cost of renewing a passport on the Isle of Man has risen by 7%.

It follows two price hikes in the last year and comes after similar moves by the UK parliament.

It means the charge for a standard Manx passport has increased from £100 to £107, and an express application has gone up to £190.50 from £178.

The changes have been applied to all new applications, renewals and replacement documents.

An express service was reinstated in August after being suspended for nearly a year due to staff shortages and a backlog of applications.

Treasury Minister Alex Allinson said there had since been "investment in staff and increased resilience".

The government was committed "to serving the needs of our island community and responding to people's urgent travel needs", he added.

A the cost of a child's passport has also seen the increase applied, seeing it rise to £74 from £69 for the standard service, while the express issuing option goes up from £147 to £157.50.

The public counter at the Isle of Man Passport Office in Douglas is open between 10:00 and 14:00 BST each weekday.
