Police hunt thieves who stole gold and silver bars

Police are investigating after thieves reportedly stole several gold and silver bars worth thousands from a property in Devon.

The burglary in Hatherleigh is believed to have taken place between 12 June and 16 June and involved a pair of 1kg silver bars - the current approximate street value of which is £883 each.

Seven gold bars of various sizes were also taken and 20 gold sovereign coins in a small purple zip-up purse.

Officers have urged people to be on the look out for anyone attempting to sell any of these items at pawn shops, auctioneers or jewellers in the area.
