Iceland's Rose Street store is due to close in July

Frozen food firm Iceland says it is closing its Inverness city centre shop.

The move, which is not part of wider branch closures, is understood to affect about 20 staff.

Iceland said the Rose Street store was scheduled to shut on 12 July.

A spokesperson said: "Our store colleagues will enter into a consultation process and will be offered opportunities at surrounding stores where possible."

Iceland said it had a warehouse store in the city's Telford Street, while the nearest other shop was in Aberdeen.
