Boys in court over seat thrown at shopping centre

Two boys aged 14 and 15 have appeared in court accused of endangering lives by throwing a seat over a barrier and down multiple floors of the Westfield shopping centre in east London.
The youth court hearing at Stratford Magistrates' Court was adjourned by magistrate Aneeta Prem until 21 May without any pleas being entered, as both sets of the boys' parents required interpreters.
The teenagers, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are charged with being reckless as to whether the life of another person would be endangered and damaging a seat worth £500. They were released on bail.
The allegations relate to an incident at the shopping centre in Stratford on 1 March.
The boys' bail conditions are that they observe a home curfew, do not contact each other and do not enter the shopping centre.
