Two charged after jewellery shop ram raid

Two men have been charged after a stolen vehicle was used to ram raid a jewellery shop in Surrey, police have said.

The raid happened in Old Woking Road, West Byfleet, on Wednesday.

The men have both been charged with burglary of a commercial property.

Surrey Police said that one has also been charged with dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and uninsured driving.

The pair have been remanded in custody and will appear at Guildford Crown Court at a later date.

A third man who was arrested in connection with the incident was taken to hospital for medical treatment where he remains, the force added.
