A Gomshall man has been arrested after two people were seriously injured in a crash

A man has been arrested after two pedestrians were hit by a car on Wednesday afternoon, Surrey Police said.

The man and woman were suffered seriously injured in the crash in Aldershot Road in Fairlands at around 12:20 BST on 14 May.

The woman was taken by air ambulance to hospital, where she remains in a life-threatening condition, the force said.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said a 37-year-old man from Gomshall has been held, and officers were appealing for witnesses.
