A woman and her pet were attacked by a dog in a North Yorkshire coastal village, prompting a police appeal.

The dog was being walked by a man in Robin Hood's Bay when it attacked the woman and her smaller dog, North Yorkshire Police said.

It happened near a bus stop on Station Road on 3 February, police said, with neither suffering any serious injuries.

The force issued a photo of a man "who may have information that could assist our investigation" and asked any witnesses or those with CCTV footage to get in contact.
