Firefighters remain at scene of moorland blaze

Firefighters remain at the scene of a large moorland blaze in West Yorkshire and have advised people to avoid the area.
The blaze broke out near Oldham Road in Ripponden at about 12:15 BST on Thursday, with smoke billowing across the M62.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) said at its height the fire stretched for 1.2 miles (2km) with 18 crews in attendance.
A spokesperson said seven crews and supporting units remained in the area after monitoring and tackling the fire overnight.
A spokesperson for WYFRS said fire development "remained steady overnight".
"The area covered is approximately 1.8 mile (3km) by 1.2 mile (2km) with an active 164 ft (50m) flame front.
"There are multiple hotspots across this area."

They said crews remained at the scene to prevent further flare-ups and to target hot spots.
The cause of the blaze is not known but it comes after a series of moorland fires in West Yorkshire in recent weeks and follows a long spell of dry weather.
The fire prompted the closure of the A672 Oldham Road, heading towards Rishworth, and it remains shut.
