A 72-year-old cyclist is in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash with a car.

South Wales Police said the collision happened at about 08:40 BST on Saturday on Dunleavy Drive in Grangetown, Cardiff, and involved a cyclist from Roath and a vehicle.

A 19-year-old man from Sully, Vale of Glamorgan, and his passenger, a 24-year-old woman from Dinas Powys, Vale of Glamorgan, have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police are investigating the cause of the collision and are appealing for any witnesses or those with dashcam footage to come forward.
