Teenager charged with wounding after stabbing

A teenage boy will appear in court on Monday after being charged in connection with the stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been charged after a stabbing in Powys on Saturday night.

Firearms police were called to the incident near Parkers Lane, Newtown, where an 18-year-old man had been stabbed.

Dyfed-Powys Police said a teenager had been charged with wounding with intent and would appear before Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The victim was taken to hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
