Murder charge after man found dead inside home

A man has appeared in court charged with murder after a 53-year-old was found dead at his home in Leeds.

The body of Darren Leach was discovered at his home on Marsden Grove in Beeston on 19 March after emergency services responded to a report of concern for safety.

A small fire was also found within the property, West Yorkshire Police said at the time.

William Joyce, 38, of Woodview Terrace, Leeds, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with murder and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday for a bail application hearing.
