An electricity power cable which fell, closing a major A-road, has been cleared.

National Highways shut the A47 near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, in both directions between the A141 at Ring's End and the B1040 at Thorney, after an electricity pole was reported damaged at 08:18 GMT on Sunday.

Cambridgeshire Police was called to the scene and diversions put in place.

National Highways posted on X at about 16:00 and said the road had fully reopened.
