Two victims of sexual abuse were praised for their courage after a man was jailed for raping them while they were teenagers.

Jordan Hutchinson, 24, was found guilty of six charges of rape and two counts of sexual assault in April at Nottingham Crown Court and was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Friday.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were "full of admiration" for the courage of both victims, who were "vulnerable teenagers" when they were raped.

Hutchinson raped and sexually assaulted the first victim during late 2019 and early 2020, and raped the second victim on multiple occasions between the summer of 2020 and early 2021, the force added.

The victims' accounts, along with messages recovered from Hutchinson's mobile phone, provided the evidence needed to secure charges against Hutchinson.

One victim locked herself in her bathroom and called a friend in panic after being raped by him, police said.

Hutchinson, of Foxearth Avenue in Nottingham, denied his offending but a jury found him guilty.

Along with the prison sentence, he was also given an indefinite restraining order which forbids him from contacting either victim.

He was also added to the Sex Offenders' Register for life.

Det Con Laura Sunderland said: "These two young women were both subjected to appalling sexual assaults at the hands of Hutchinson.

"This outcome would not have been possible without them and the judge also praised them as courageous, intelligent, articulate and truthful."
