Driver charged after pedestrian killed in crash

A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a fatal collision in Aberdeen last year.

Thomas Pates, 68, was seriously injured after he was struck by a Volkswagen Golf on Seafield Road at about 19:20 on Wednesday 6 March.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he died on Monday 25 March.

The 19-year-old driver of the Golf has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences. He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
