Tributes paid to teenager killed in car crash
Tributes have been paid to a teenager who died after the car he was travelling in crashed into a water-filled pit at a treatment works in West Yorkshire.
Taylor Lupton, 18, from Wakefield, was travelling in a Volkswagen Golf early on Sunday morning when the car came off Wheldon Road in Castleford and entered the site.
Mr Lupton's family said he was a "lovely father and a beloved son" and "the most selfless and caring person to everyone around him".
A man and woman, both 21, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and had both been released under investigation, police said.
West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to Wheldon Road at about 06:20 GMT on 12 January following a report a car with several people inside had left the road and gone into a ditch.
Emergency services found the white car partially submerged in a pit and Mr Lupton was found nearby.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Anyone who saw the car travelling along Wheldon Road from the direction of Airedale just before the crash was asked to contact police.
'Best daddy'
A crowdfunding page set up to cover the costs of Mr Lupton's funeral said the 18-year-old was "a friend to everyone, and above all the best daddy to his daughter who he loved with all of his heart".
"He didn't even have the chance to live his life or see the most important parts of his baby girl's life and has had to leave her just before she's turns one," it added.
The fund had reached more than £3,500 on Friday.
