Council systems 'up and running' after outage

Nottingham City Council has said its phone lines and systems are fully running again after a power cut caused more than a week of disruption.
The authority's Loxley House headquarters were hit by an outage on Thursday 13 March that affected its core IT systems and impacted its data centre.
On Monday, the council said its systems had been fully restored and the building had reopened for appointments.
It thanked people who had been affected by the disruption for their patience and understanding while it had worked to fix the issues.
The outage, described as a "once-in-a-lifetime" power failure" by the council, damaged files and hard drives.
The authority said the event had been "unprecedented" and caused by a failure within the electrical safety circuit of the high-voltage switchgear at Loxley House.
It said when the power failed, electricity generated by back-up generators could not get back into the system to power anything.
