Man released on bail after attempted murder arrest

A man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released on bail.

Police were called to reports of violence in the car park of the Ortongate Shopping Centre, Peterborough, at about 14:09 GMT on Sunday.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "A 55-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been released on bail until 25 April. An investigation is ongoing."
