Biker, 60, dies in crash with car on Christmas Day

A 60-year-old biker has died in a crash with a car near Stirling on Christmas Day.

Police were called to the incident involving an Audi A7 and a Moto Guzzi motorcycle on the A811 near Leckie at about 14:00.

The driver of the Audi, a 72-year-old man, was taken to Forth Valley Hospital with minor injuries. The man on the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene.

The A811 between the Kings Knot roundabout and Kippen station roundabout was closed for 10 hours for police investigations.

Insp Andrew Thomson said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time.

"We will continue to support them throughout the investigation.

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch."
