Rhona Hewit has raised more than £50,000 for charities by selling fish finger sandwiches

A Jersey cafe owner who raised £50,000 for charity by selling fish finger sandwiches says it is an "incredible milestone".

Rhona Hewit has been raising money for local charities since the Covid pandemic in 2020.

She has selected a charity to support each year and chose to help disability charity Enable Jersey in 2025.

The charity called Ms Hewit "amazing" and "wonderful" after she reached the milestone.

Mrs Hewit spoke on BBC Jersey in March 2024, while fundraising was ongoing.

Ms Hewit started selling the fish finger sandwiches to raise money because she could not hold regular fundraisers during Covid lockdowns.

Ms Hewit said it "was made possible by my amazing team and the generosity of our community".

She added: "Their kindness and support have turned small ideas into something truly meaningful and I'm so grateful for what we've achieved together."

Enable Jersey chief executive Sean Pontin said: "I was delighted when Rhona told me she wanted to support Enable... Her fish finger sandwiches have become an island go to."

He added: "We are so pleased to be working with Rhona and so grateful for her help with raising awareness of Enable as a charity."
