Man charged over attack that left man critically ill

A man has been charged in connection to a serious assault in Limavady, County Londonderry, that left a 22-year-old man critically ill.

The victim was attacked in Irish Green Street in the town on the morning of Saturday 1 February.

He is in a critical but stable condition in hospital, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

A 34-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences including grievous bodily harm with intent, theft and driving related offences.

He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday.

The PSNI reissued their appeal to anyone who has footage of or information about the attack to contact them.
