Bus engulfed in flames on main road

Drivers were asked to avoid a main route after a bus caught fire on the road.

Fire crews were called to the blaze on the A52 westbound between Gamston and West Bridgford in Nottinghamshire at about 18:20 BST on Wednesday.

No-one has been injured, a spokeswoman for the fire service said.

Traffic was blocked towards Nottingham, and police were also at the scene.

Pictures of the aftermath show the bus completely burnt out.

Officers from National Highways were also on their way to the scene, the fire service said.
