West Mercia Police were called to a home on Lambourn Drive, Shrewsbury, just before midnight on Thursday after a report of a man who was thought to have been stabbed.
The 35-year-old man had serious injuries and died at the scene, the force said.
On Friday morning, the 24-year-old man was arrested and remained in custody.
