Police say the damage will cost £4,500 to repair

A woman has been charged after multiple windows were smashed at a historic pub in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to The Bell Inn, on Angel Row, shortly after 07.45 GMT on Tuesday when staff reported a member of the public causing damage.

Officers said they found five smashed windows and two broken advertising boards.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested and has since been charged with criminal damage.

She has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 13 February, the force said.

The pub is said to date back to 1437.

The estimated cost of repairing the damage is about £4,500, police said.
