Nightclub attack leaves man badly hurt in hospital

An 18-year-old man has been seriously hurt in an attack at a nightclub in Derbyshire in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called to the Regal nightclub in Nottingham Road, Ripley, at about 03:50 BST on Sunday.

Derbyshire Police said the victim was getting treatment in hospital but his injuries were not life-threatening.

The nightclub and the road outside it were "extremely busy" at the time of the assault, police said, as officers appealed for witnesses.
