Appeal after driver dies in two-car collision

A man has died after a two-car crash in North Yorkshire.

A black BMW 318 and a black Peugeot 3008 SUV were travelling in opposite directions when they collided on the A61 at Daffodil Bends near Ripon at about 17:10 BST on Saturday, police said.

The driver of the BMW, a man in his 80s, died in hospital. The other driver, a man in his 20s, from Warwickshire, was also taken to hospital for treatment.

North Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses and motorists with any relevant dashcam footage.
