Patricia Eastick sustained serious injuries in the incident in Hull and died later in hospital

An 82-year-old woman has died after the car she was in braked sharply.

Humberside Police said Patricia Eastick sustained serious injuries and died later in hospital following the incident in Beverley Road, Hull, just before 20:00 BST on Wednesday.

Ms Eastick was a passenger in a white Mercedes which police believe braked hard in response to a manoeuvre by a silver Volkswagen near the junction of Grafton Street.

It is not thought that the two vehicles collided, but Ms Eastick sustained serious injuries as the Mercedes came to a stop.

Police are appealing for the driver of the Volkswagen to get in touch, as well as anyone with dashcam footage from around the time of the incident.
