Two people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after the death of a man in his 60s.

The man's body was found at about 23:30 BST on 25 June on West Moor Road in Sunderland, Northumbria Police said.

A force spokeswoman said the death was being treated as unexplained and his next of kin were being supported by officers.

A man in his 30s and woman in her 40s were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. The woman was also being held on suspicion of coercive control.

Both have since been released on bail pending further inquiries, the spokeswoman added.
