Trial date for man accused of historical sex offences

A date has been set for the trial of a man accused of a string of sexual assaults against four teenage men and boys dating back to the 1990s.

Allan Grimson, of Grove Road, Hollesley, Suffolk, is accused of multiple offences including rape, indecent assault and taking an indecent photo of a child.

The offences are alleged to have taken place in "Hampshire or elsewhere" between February 1994 and October 1999.

During a hearing at Newport Crown Court on the Isle of Wight, Judge Michael Bowes KC adjourned the case for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Portsmouth Crown Court on 9 June with the trial listed for 1 June 2026.

Mr Grimson is accused of the rape of an 18-year-old man in "Hampshire or elsewhere" and five charges of indecent assault against the same victim between 1 February and 30 November 1999.

The 65-year-old is also accused of taking an indecent photo of a child and four charges of indecent assault against a second victim in "Hampshire or elsewhere" between 26 March and 31 October 1999.

He is also charged with a count of indecent assault against a third victim between 28 February and 31 December 1994, and indecent assault against a fourth victim between 30 September and 1 December 1998.

Hampshire Police previously said the offences were alleged to have taken place in Portsmouth and Tyne and Wear.
