A charity that shares the "healing power of live music" is touring care homes, hospital wards and schools across Guernsey.

Music in Hospitals and Care said harpist Margaret Watson was visiting patients and pupils until 29 March.

It said the initiative was part of a partnership with Guernsey's Healing Music Trust, which it had been working with since 1999.

The charity said: "We believe live music needs to be part of everyone's health and social care."

During the charity's last tour of the island in 2024, musicians performed at 35 sites for nearly 1,000 people.

It said: "Research shows that live music heals.

"It helps people feel relaxed and confident, and can relieve frustration, stress and isolation.

"Music can also reduce the perception of pain. It brings back memories and helps create new ones."
