A man found injured outside a pub in Derby was stabbed, police said as officers made an appeal to trace two suspects.

Derbyshire Police said it was called just before 18:00 BST on Saturday to an injured man outside the Five Lamps in Duffield Road.

On Sunday, the force confirmed the 35-year-old victim had suffered stab wounds to his upper leg and lower back, which are not believed to be life-threatening, in nearby Belper Road.

Two men in their 30s who left the scene are wanted for questioning.

Both the suspects were white, said officers, with one wearing a tracksuit.

The pair left in the direction of the Texaco Garage.

Paramedics also attended the scene and officers taped off the front of the pub while forensic units investigated the area.

A police spokesperson said the investigation was ongoing and anyone with information was urged to contact the force.
