A homelessness charity's Nottingham site was evacuated due to a fire in a bedroom.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Framework in London Road at about 08:45 GMT on Wednesday due to a bed on fire inside.

The site was evacuated while four fire crews from London Road, West Bridgford and Carlton tackled the fire.

London Road had a lane shut city-bound while emergency services carried out their work.

Framework said nobody had been hurt in the incident.

Premises coordinator Dave Smith said: "There was an incident with us in a service user's room, a small fire.

"It was looked at and dealt with by a staffing team.

"The fire brigade were called, and they went in to make sure everything was safe. The fire brigade have told us that it's safe to go back in."
