A man who died after being hit by a car while riding an e-scooter has been described as the "life and soul of every gathering" by his family.

Scott Catton, 53, was seriously injured while riding along Ridgeway in Top Valley, Nottingham, on the evening of 5 June.

He was taken to hospital where he died two days later, Nottinghamshire Police said.

An investigation into his death is ongoing.

Mr Catton's family said he was a "much-loved fiance, father, stepfather, brother, uncle and friend to so many".

In a statement they said: "He truly was the life and soul of every gathering whether it was a party, watching the football, or simply enjoying a pint down at the local.

"He loved his sports, but nothing meant more to him than his family and his love for Nottingham Forest - a passion he proudly shared with his son.

"His presence lit up the room, and his laughter was infectious.

"Scott had a heart as big as they come.

"Always the first to offer a helping hand, he made a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know him.

"His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts, but the love, memories, and laughter he gave us will live on forever."
