Child pedestrian killed in village collision

A collision took place on Lovedean Lane, Catherington, near Waterlooville

A 14-year-old boy has died following a crash involving a car towing a trailer and a pedestrian.

Hampshire police were called at 21:00 BST on Monday to reports of a collision on Lovedean Lane, Catherington, near Waterlooville.

The boy - who was a pedestrian - died at the scene and a 24-year-old man from Waterlooville was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst unfit through drugs.

He has been released under investigation and the police want to hear from witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
