Woman completes 1,100-day swimming challenge
A woman from Cornwall has completed a challenge to swim outdoors for 1,100 days in a row to raise money for charity.
Louise Snelson has gone for a swim every day for three years and four days in aid of Cornwall Air Ambulance.
The St Just resident swam in locations across Cornwall including Mousehole harbour, along with places like Eastbourne, Wales and Dartmoor during the challenge and raised more than £2,000 for the charity.
Ms Snelson said she managed to get out every day even when she was ill, which included three bouts of Covid-19, and found the swimming had been beneficial for her health.
"It's been good for my mental health and for my inflamed joints, so it's been a good all-round thing," she said.
Ms Snelson said she made friends during the challenge who have swum with her on occasions and become like a "second family".
She added even though her 1,100-day challenge had finished, she would still be taking regular dips in the water.
"I won't be doing it every day from now on, but it's been great fun and I'm definitely not going to stop," Ms Snelson said.
