Major dual carriageway closed by HGV crash

A major dual carriageway is closed in one direction after a crash that resulted in a HGV crossing from one side of the road to the other.

The A303 in Hampshire is shut westbound between the M3 at North Waltham and the A34 at Bullington Cross.

National Highways said the road had initially been closed in both directions, but one lane had reopened eastbound.

The closure is expected to be in place for several hours.

This is due to a complex recovery operation and central reservation barrier damage, National Highways said.

Police are also on the scene.

A diversion via the M3 and A34 is in place.
