MP hosts public meeting on housing estate concerns

An MP has held a public forum to discuss ongoing issues on a housing estate, including high fees, poor services and unadopted roads.
Rosie Wrighting, Labour MP for Kettering, organised the meeting with about 140 residents of Little Stanion in Corby, Northamptonshire, to hear their concerns and explore possible solutions.
The Little Stanion estate has been under construction for more than a decade, with some houses and the village hall still unfinished.
The developer, JME Developments, went into administration last year, leaving parts of the site incomplete.

In a post on social media, Wrighting said: "It's clear the situation is untenable, which is why I invited residents to a forum on Saturday to share their stories and tell me what they want to see change so we could collectively look at the next steps."
JME Developments said in October 2024 it was hoping to finish the site in 2028, nearly eight years after construction should have been completed.
Many residents say they are now struggling with excessive service charges, a lack of transparency from property management companies, and unresolved infrastructure problems.
The MP said she had been in discussions with developers and property management companies about these issues and will continue to addresses concerns in Parliament.
Wrighting added: "Everyone should feel safe and secure in their homes, but many people in Little Stanion have told me stories of exorbitant fees, poor services, problems with roads and more."
The administrators for JME Developers, Rachel Fowler Advisory, said in a statement it had "engaged a building contractor to continue works on the site".
She added that it had "recently exchanged two properties and have agreed further sales which we anticipate completing in the next few months".
