Man killed in shooting named as two arrested

A man who was killed in a shooting has been identified by police.
Barry Dawson, 60, was shot on Saturday in his home on Elm Street, in Stanley, County Durham, and died at the scene.
Durham Police said a post-mortem showed Mr Dawson died from a single gunshot wound.
A 37-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and remained in police custody, the force added.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 17:20 BST following reports of a disturbance and a cordon remains in place while the investigation continues.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a white Seat Arona in the area to come forward.
A spokesman for the force said the car was found abandoned nearby in the Oxhill area and had been examined by crime scene investigators.
Det Supt Neil Fuller said: "Our officers are carrying out extensive inquiries and I am grateful for the support and co-operation we have received from the community so far."
