Motorcyclist killed in crash was 'one of a kind'

The family of a motorcyclist who died in a crash in Coventry has said he was "one of a kind".

Reece Bird, 26, came off his motorbike on Quorn Way shortly after 20:00 BST on Friday and died at the scene, West Midlands Police said.

In a tribute released by the force, the family said they had lost their "brother, best friend and main man".

"He never thought anything was impossible and always went above and beyond for his family," they added.

"Anyone who knew him knew how much he lit up the room by just walking in, a smile that could fix anything."

Mr Bird's sister, Georgia, said: "Rest in paradise my big brother, I love you always and forever."

Police confirmed a phone that had gone missing from the scene of the crash had since been found in Bell Green on Monday evening.

The force said the mobile had been "placed on top of a police car" by an officer, while they assisted at the scene.

It is believed that the phone belonged to Mr Bird's sister, Georgia, who had been performing CPR on her brother.

The force added that enquiries into the crash were continuing and it was not currently looking for any other drivers or vehicles.
