A temporary exhibition of unseen images and music has gone on display.

The exhibition at St Editha's Church in Tamworth comprises a number of items that have recently been uncovered, including many that have been in the town's archives for a number of years.

Among the items on display is a wax impression of the Common Seal of St Editha's Church as well as an original hand drawn and painted image of one of the church windows.

From the Archives will be on show for visitors until the end of July.

"It's truly humbling to know that the wax impression, along with the drawing and painting of the church windows, have been preserved for many years and can now be seen on display at the church," said council chief executive Stephen Gabriel.

The exhibition also includes music from two albums – one featuring the BBC's Song of Praise recorded in St Editha's in 1976 and a celebration album recorded in 1988.

The town's local history archives were transferred from Tamworth Library to the ownership of Tamworth Borough Council last year.
