Driver killed and three seriously hurt in crash

An elderly driver has died and three more people are seriously injured following a car crash in Gwynedd, police said.

Emergency services were called to a collision between two cars outside the ambulance station on Beach Road, Bangor, just before 13:00 BST on Tuesday.

The driver of a Toyota Yaris was air-lifted to hospital in Stoke but died during the early hours of Wednesday, North Wales Police have confirmed.

The female passenger was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor where she remains in a critical condition.

Two female occupants of a Vauxhall Vivaro were also taken to hospital where they are still being treated for serious injuries.

The road was closed for several hours on Tuesday for a police investigation.

Police have also appealed for information or any dashcam footage.
