Marine sector set for up to £500k in support

Up to £500,000 will be distributed in 2025 to support Jersey's fishing sector, the minister for sustainable economic development said.
Deputy Kirsten Morel said the marine support scheme, which was launched in 2023, provided "direct financial support to the marine sector" using a points-based marine credit system.
The minister said amendments to the regulations which governed the agricultural loans scheme would be brought forward to "expand the eligibility criteria".
Minister for the Environment, Steve Luce, added a working group was being established to "investigate fish processing opportunities" around St Helier, adding a meeting had been planned for 7 March.
