Man arrested in connection with murder of woman in Cork

A man in his 40s was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a woman in County Cork.

31-year-old Paula Canty's body was discovered after gardaí (Irish police) received a call alerting them to an incident on Friday.

Her body was found in her apartment at the Belfry on Bridewell Lane in Mallow.

She had been stabbed in the chest, according to Irish broadcaster RTÉ.

Gardaí in Mallow say investigations are ongoing.
