Saltburn star stops for selfies with shoppers
Shoppers got a surprise when they spotted a BAFTA award-winning actor lining up at the till.
Irish actor Barry Keoghan stopped to get selfies with a fan while shopping in Sports Direct in Merthyr Tydfil Retail Park.
Keoghan is known for his role as Oliver in the viral film Saltburn.
"He came over said hello and was kind enough to have a photo," said Tristian Thomas.
Tristian was shopping at the retail park with his friend when they thought they saw someone who looked similar to the actor.
"My mate seen Barry and joked to me saying 'that's Barry Keoghan by there'," he said.
"He thought it just looked like him. As I looked, he turned around with a mask on, and I seen his eyes, and knew it was him."
The two men approached Keoghan who stopped for a quick chat and selfie.
"I asked him 'what are you doing in Merthyr then?'. He said 'ahhhh just doing a bit of travelling'," said Tristian.
"He looked like he was in a rush so we left him go."
He added that Keoghan gave the two friends a thumbs-up as he drove away.
Keoghan recently starred in the critically-acclaimed new film Bird where it sees him play a chaotic young father raising his children on a rough housing estate.
Keoghan previously scored an Oscar nomination for his comedic performance in The Banshees of Inisherin, which also starred Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.
